The Game Developers Conference 2007
What's In store?
Game conventions are are held annually by enthusiasts, fans and the more hardcore gamers. This time however, its a convention for innovators, creators, developers of the games industry. The big the best and the brightest (companies) make their way into this once in a lifetime conference aimed at bringing better, more aesthetically pleasing and revolutionary games to the consumer base.
Starting on March 5 and ending on March 9, at the dynamic city of San Fransisco, California, USA. Prominent figures from the industry giants like Sony's President of Worldwide Studios, Sony Computer Entertainment, Phil Harrison, will demonstrate some exclusive rights into its development of products and services that will help define future growth in the video game market. Not to be outdone, Nintendo guru, Shigeru Miyamoto, dubbed by many as the father of computer games console, will be there to reveal how a singular creative vision drives his work, not only in terms of his world-renown software, but also in generating key technologies, including the current global phenomena, Nintendo DS and Wii. And he will challenge the audience to apply his approach in their own distinctive styles.
Other key events such as the Independent Games Summit are a sure attraction for indie games developers to have their games make hit the big time to be published. This and many other key events are expected to be a crowd- gatherer for both the consumer base and industry base.

Asian Game Show 2006 (AGS2006)
The Asian Game Show 2006 was Hong Kong's year end attraction as game companies met for a week to show off their new games and products, mainly targeted at the newly released Sony Playstation 3 console. This week long extravaganza featured the new releases for mostly Sony games targeted at the Playstation 3 and the PSP. There were also cosplay competitions held as well as other activities like the search for the Sony Girl.
Outblaze along with Typhoon Games and FON were present at the said event. Promoting Sanriotown's new features and services like Blogs, Dream Studio and also promoting the newly created Hello Kitty and Friends animation in real 3D. Sanrio's booth situated alongside Typhoon Games and FON seemed to have caught the attention of the passerby, especially children.

Hong Kong ICT Awards 2006
Typhoon Games has been the recipient of a Certificate of Merit for Best DirectingEfor its release of The Impossible Team Online Game (TITOG), during last year's FIFA World Cup. This award was organized by the Hong Kong Digital Entertainment Organization, an organization that aims in giving credit to developers and publishers for quality games and media.
TITOG is a game developed by the joint partnership of Typhoon Games and Adidas Asia. This successful online team management game is where players can battle each other out using the team they have created. Players can customize their characters by buying Adidas equipment from shops giving them an edge over other players. Like Jose & Pedro from 'The Impossible Team' TV commercial, you, as the player, will be given the opportunity to recruit any +10 team members and compete against other +10 teams. The game offers a wide variety of characters to recruit into your team, which includes many famous players from the world of soccer such as Beckham, Zidan, Zico, Beckenbauer and many more.
Representing Typhoon Games Ltd. at the awarding ceremony to receive the award are, Rolleta Lee, Alfred Wong, Winnie Mak, Sai Cheng and Terry Yip.

ChinaJoy 2005
Typhoon Games is one of the companies that participated in the 3rd China Digital Entertainment Expo and Conference (or ChinaJoy) as part of the Hong Kong delegation for the event. The conference was held last July 21-23, 2005 in the Shanghai New International Exhibition Center. Typhoon Games showcased an impressive lineup of games such as Hello Kitty Mission Rescue, Hello Kitty Online, Dungeon Lords, and Infinity Empire.
Not to be left behind by E3 in the U.S. and the Tokyo Game Show in Japan, ChinaJoy is intended to be another huge event for the international games industry. The goals of ChinaJoy are to strengthen domestic game supervision in China, actively regulate the Chinese market, and rigorously fight against piracy to encourage and support the development and the sales of legal game products.
Hong Kong Book Fair 2005
The Hong Kong Book Fair 2005 was held in the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre from July 20-25, 2005, and Typhoon Games was there to sponsor 20 free copies of educational games starring Mia, an adorable little mouse with big adventures. The Book Fair is a yearly event organized by the Hong Kong Trade Development Council and the Ming Pao Newspaper to arouse public interest in reading. The attendance this year has again increased, having over 630,000 visitors and 390 exhibitors.
Cyberport Games Marathon
Typhoon Games took part in the Cyberport Games Marathon, which was held in the weekends of July 1-3, and 9-10, 2005 in Cyberport, Hong Kong’s IT district. The Office of the Government Chief Information Officer and Hong Kong Cyberport Management Ltd. organized the event to introduce electronic games created by Hong Kong companies to the general public and to promote a positive and healthy gaming culture.
We featured several games in the weekend marathon, which are namely, Infinity Empire, Dungeon Lords, and Ys VI: The Ark of Napishtim. Singer and actor Leo Koo graced the occasion and played our lineup with the gamers present. Want to see more? Have a look at our gallery:
